Hidari Jingoro is considered to have built this temple with applying an architectural style of the sanmon (temple gate)-kuginashi (not using nails for building a sanmon). Its gohonzon (principal image) is Enmei-Jizo-Bosatsu (seated image allegedly made by Unkei). People are familiar with this temple as Ajisai (hydrangea) -dera.
