Kodama is a region where silk cultivation has been flourishing since early times. For this reason, there existed many silk cultivation residences with small windows placed on the top of the roof for adjusting the temperature and humidity to raise silkworms. Many buildings like them have been left in Higashi-Kodaira district, which are collectively called as Takamado-no-Sato.
