Former Honjo Police Station (a prefecturally designated cultural heritage) built in 1883 (Meiji 16th) was restored and renovated into the Museum of History and Folklore. The inside of the Museum is used as an exhibition room and the characteristics of a Western-style building in Meiji Period can be found throughout the Museum. In addition, the Museum displays rare "Warau-Tatemochi-Jinbutsu-Haniwa (Smiling People of Clay Figures Holding Shields)" that has one and only appearance in the nation.
