Before the year of 740 in Heian Period, the son of Minamoto no Tameyoshi who served Togu (Crown Palace) of Konoe Tenno (Emperor Konoe) became the leader of the tachiwaki (bodyguard group) and was called as Tachiwaki-Senjo-Giken. He was killed at this place during the battle against Akugenta Yoshihira. There is his grave and monument in this temple.
