Dosojin Festival is a fire festival to drive away demons. In this festival, a cone-shaped shed is built out of goshinboku (sacred trees) and bamboos, and then decorated with besoms for sweeping soot, ornaments including kadomatsu (New Year's decorative pine trees) as well as shime-nawa (sacred rice-straw ropes) and old dharmas, and finally burnt together with ofuda, omamori (amulet), etc.
